Emergency services responded to an incident on Weymouth seafront last night. Police officers and ambulance crews were called to the scene, where a cordon was established near a bus. It is understood that paramedics were treating a medical incident which occurred on board the bus.

Dorset Council confirms March launch for controversial tip booking scheme
A date has been confirmed for the introduction of a controversial booking system at four recycling centres in Dorset. Dorset Council says the pre-booking system will be introduced at Household Recycling Centres in Dorchester, Wimborne, Shaftesbury and Sherborne from Monday, March 23.

Fatality on Weymouth to Waterloo Train line
Person dies on railway line between Bournemouth and Brockenhurst A person has tragically died on the railway line on the route between Weymouth and London Waterloo. Officers from British Transport Police confirmed they were called to New Milton railway station at around 11.10am on Thursday 5 March following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
Increased fly tipping fines across Dorset
A stronger crackdown on illegal waste dumping has resulted in a significant increase in fines for fly-tipping across Dorset. Data published by the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA) shows that local authorities in England dealt with 1.26 million fly-tipping incidents during 2024–2025, a nine per cent rise compared with the previous year.Across the South West, there were 55,349 reported cases, representing an 8.1 per cent increase.In contrast, figures from Dorset Council show the county experienced a decline in incidents.
Seafront toilets vandalised
Residents have expressed shock and disappointment after vandals smashed 16 windows at public toilets on Weymouth’s seafront during the early hours.The damage occurred at the town council’s unisex toilet block located beneath the Beach Office on the Esplanade. Weymouth Town Council confirmed that the incident was captured on CCTV and the footage has been passed to Dorset Police as part of their investigation.
