Gritters are out on Dorset’s roads — but not because of ice. Dorset Council says they’re being used during the hot weather to spread sand on roads where the surface has started to soften. The sand helps stop the road becoming sticky and limits further damage from traffic. Motorists are being asked to take care, especially where treatment or temporary restrictions are in place.
