Urgent and emergency care and medical care at Dorset County Hospital have been rated good by the Care Quality Commission.
Dorset County Hospital has received a “good” rating for urgent and emergency care and medical care following a Care Quality Commission inspection.
The inspection took place at the Dorchester hospital in January 2026 as part of ongoing checks on safety and service quality.
The hospital’s overall rating also remains “good”.
Chief Nursing Officer Dawn Dawson said the rating reflects the work of dedicated and compassionate teams providing safe, high-quality care.
Dorset County Hospital says it will continue making improvements ahead of the planned opening of its new Emergency Department and Critical Care Unit next year.
