Dorset Police honours award winners

Police officers, staff and volunteers who have gone above and beyond to keep Dorset safe have been recognised at the force’s annual awards ceremony.

Dorset Police has celebrated the achievements of officers, staff and volunteers at its annual awards event.

Police Constable Mike Green and police dogs Gerri and Fuzz were named Police Dog and Handler of the Year after a series of successful operations, including locating more than £200,000 hidden in a vehicle linked to organised crime.

Special Constable Paul Brown received the Special Constable of the Year award after volunteering 756 hours over the past year and completing more than 130 duties.

Dorchester Neighbourhood Policing Team won the Reducing Crime Award after helping deliver a 40 per cent fall in crime in the town over the last 12 months.

Other winners included PCSO Samantha Murray, who was named PCSO of the Year, and Sergeant Jennifer Hussey, who received the Leadership Award.

Chief Constable Amanda Pearson praised the professionalism, commitment and compassion of all the award recipients, thanking them and their families for their dedication to keeping Dorset’s communities safe.
