New Dorset Police chief confirmed

Dorset Police has confirmed Rachel Farrell as its new Chief Constable. She currently serves as Deputy Chief Constable and will succeed Amanda Pearson, who is retiring later this summer.

Dorset Police has confirmed Rachel Farrell as its new Chief Constable.

She currently serves as Deputy Chief Constable and will succeed Amanda Pearson, who is retiring later this summer.

Police and Crime Commissioner David Sidwick said Rachel Farrell was chosen for her leadership, operational experience and commitment to public service.

Rachel Farrell said she was honoured to lead the force after more than 30 years serving communities in Dorset and Hampshire.

She said her priorities include keeping people safe, protecting vulnerable people, bringing offenders to justice and maintaining public trust.

She will formally take up the role later this summer.
