Weymouth Central Beach has once again been recognised with a national Seaside Award ahead of the summer season.
Weymouth Central Beach has been named among the winners of the 2026 Seaside Awards by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy.
The awards recognise beaches that meet high standards for cleanliness, safety and environmental management.
Councillor Ryan Hope said the town was delighted to receive the award again, describing the beach as an important asset for residents and visitors.
Keep Britain Tidy chief executive Allison Ogden-Newton said England’s coastline included some of the finest beaches in the world and praised the work being done to maintain high standards.
Beaches are judged on a range of criteria including safety measures, environmental information, waste management and water quality standards.
The Seaside Awards aim to recognise beaches providing safe, clean and well-managed spaces for the public to enjoy.
