The branch is looking for Listening Volunteers to help maintain its 24-hour helpline, supporting people experiencing distress, loneliness or crisis.
Organisers say extra help is especially needed overnight, when many callers feel most isolated.
Volunteers are trained to listen without judgement, offering emotional support rather than advice.
Training and information sessions are planned throughout May and June, with a recruitment event taking place on June 17.
No previous experience is needed, with the charity saying empathy and a willingness to listen are the most important qualities.
