A planning application has been submitted for refurbishment works at the Old Rooms Inn in Cove Row, Weymouth.
The proposal seeks listed building consent for a range of internal improvements, including redecorating public areas, refurbishing timber furniture and the bar, upgrading toilets, and carrying out works to the kitchen, office, cellar, bottle store and rear corridor.
External changes are also proposed, including a new colour scheme, planters, festoon lighting, replacement outdoor furniture, entrance improvements, refurbishment of brick paving and the construction of two enclosed bin stores.
Owners Greene King say the plans have been designed to preserve the building’s historic character while ensuring it remains a viable and welcoming pub.
The application states that every effort has been made to respect the heritage of the conservation area, with the proposals largely focused on refurbishment, repairs and operational improvements.
