A man from Bridport has been jailed after five police officers were assaulted during an incident in Weymouth. Cade Robert David Adams, 21, of Bridport, has been sentenced to 11 months in prison. Police were called to The William Henry in Frederick Place, Weymouth, on Thursday 2 April after reports of an aggressive man fighting outside. Officers found Adams was in breach of a curfew and arrested him after he tried to flee. During the arrest and later in custody, five officers were assaulted.

Adams also admitted stealing alcohol from Asda earlier the same day.
He pleaded guilty to public order offences, two counts of shop theft and five counts of assaulting a police officer.
He was sentenced at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 19 May.
